The Reliant Group is committed to conducting its business in a socially responsible manner. The company sponsors major ongoing initiatives in service-enriched housing and green building throughout the country.
Service-Enriched Housing
The Reliant Group has partnered with numerous non-profit organizations to pioneer the most innovative service-enriched housing programs in the country. We meet the diverse needs of resident populations to help low and moderate income tenants improve their lives. We serve thousands of low-income households nationwide with our programs. Sample programs include youth enrichment and development programs, day care, after-school programs, continuing education / GED classes, computer skills training, job skills training, money management classes, recreational opportunities and cultural awareness activities.
Service enriched housing not only benefits the residents, but it also has a positive impact on the property’s overall performance by reducing crime and building a more stable residential community. Communities in our portfolio that offer robust resident services generally maintain above market occupancy, experience below average turnover, and lower levels of criminal activity.
Resource Conservation and Green Building
The Reliant Group is a nationally recognized leader in resource conservation and green building technology. In 2010, The Reliant Group secured the nation’s largest single allocation of funding from the Green Retrofit Program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for a complete retrofit of Haverstock Hills. In the past decade, The Reliant Group has invested millions of dollars in resource conservation, solar energy installations and green building measures at our properties, and we are constantly working to expand our green building initiatives.
